Fourteen questions that come up over and over about UFC 5, answered directly. Where the answer depends on something EA has not published, the answer says so rather than guessing.

The short answers

Does UFC 5 have a PC version?

No. It released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 27 October 2023, and EA's help pages list only those two platforms. There is no PC build, no store page and no announced plan for one.

Can I play with friends on the other console?

No. UFC 5 does not support cross-play. EA's help article states it plainly, in the same sentence that rules out cross-progression.

Does my progress carry between PlayStation and Xbox?

No. There is no cross-progression, and profile progress is stored on EA's servers tied to your platform account. Moving console means starting over.

Is the game still being updated?

The content run is finished. On 22 January 2026 EA stated that Patch 1.31 was the final update to add new playable content — fighters, Alter Egos, created-fighter items and event fight kits.

What continues: Fight Week Challenges, Pick'ems and Punch Cards with every UFC numbered event, fighter data and record updates, online services and technical maintenance.

Are people still playing in 2026?

EA does not publish player counts, active user figures or matchmaking times, so nobody can answer this with data — including this site. What is documented: online services are still supported on both platforms, Fight Week still runs on the numbered-event calendar, and the game is still sold on both stores. The practical test is to play one ranked match and watch how long matchmaking takes on your platform and in your region.

How do I get better at submissions in Career Mode?

Three things, in this order. Pick a Jiu-jitsu fighter type (Vanguard or Shark) so your starting submission ratings are not a handicap. Repeat Brazilian jiu-jitsu sparring sessions rather than rotating through all four types — repeating the same type increases the Evolution Points a session can pay out. Then use the submission chain input instead of a single hold, because a defended first attempt feeds a stronger second one.

If you are losing to the AI on the ground rather than failing to finish, the problem is usually the denial input: hold block and match the direction, do not tap.

Should I buy UFC 5 or UFC 6?

UFC 6, released 19 June 2026, is the live game. UFC 5 is the finished one. Buy UFC 6 if you want current content and the community's current game; buy UFC 5 if you want a complete, cheap, single-player-friendly package with a closed trophy list. Is there a PS4 version?

No. UFC 5 is PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There is no PS4 version, no cross-buy and therefore no trophy autopop between generations.

How many fighters are in the game?

The official roster hub lists 74 fighter cards, of which 19 are tagged New Fighters and 12 are tagged 5-Star. EA's January 2026 update says over 80 fighters were added across the live-service run — a different count, because the hub is a curated snapshot rather than a full inventory.

How many trophies are there?

32: 1 platinum, 6 gold, 9 silver and 16 bronze. Trophy guides put the difficulty at 4/10 and the time to platinum at 10–15 hours.

Does difficulty affect trophies?

No. Everything can be done on Easy, including the career trophies. That is documented by trophy guides and it is the reason the platinum is short rather than skill-gated.

Can I play offline?

Career Mode, Fight Now and Practice Mode work offline. Online Career, Ranked Championships, Blitz Battles and Fight Week do not, and they also need the console's own online subscription. One caveat: profile progress is stored on EA's servers, so profile-level rewards do not accrue while you are disconnected, even in offline modes.

Is UFC 5 suitable for younger players?

It is rated M for Mature, the first game in the franchise to carry that rating. The rating reflects the damage system — visible cuts and swelling, doctor stoppages, blood — and the presentation around it. There is no setting that removes the damage model, so if that is a deal-breaker for your household, the game is not the right pick regardless of the settings menu.

Does the Ultimate Edition still matter?

Less than it did. Its value was roster content: Alter Ego bundles, Hall of Fame Alter Egos, 3 new Legends and 15 newly rostered fighters. With the content run closed at Patch 1.31, every owner has the same final roster; what an edition changes today is which cosmetics you start with.
