UFC 5 platforms and editions

CHECKED 2026-11-02 · Data

UFC 5 exists on exactly two platforms, and the list of things it does not support is longer than the list of things it does. Both lists matter before you spend money, because several of them are permanent rather than launch-window limitations.

Platforms

ItemStatus
PlayStation 5Supported
Xbox Series X\SSupported
PCNot released, no version announced
PlayStation 4Not released
Cross-playNot supported
Cross-progressionNot supported

EA's own help article answers the cross-play question directly: UFC 5 does not support cross-play or cross-progression between platforms. The same article lists the two supported platforms and nothing else.

That combination has a consequence people discover late: if you start on PlayStation and later move to Xbox, you start over. Progress is tied to your EA account and your platform, and there is no transfer path.

What "no PC version" means in practice

There is no PC build, no PC beta, no store page and no announced plan. Any site offering a UFC 5 PC download is offering something EA has not made.

The practical fallout is modding and performance tuning: neither exists. Console performance options are whatever the game ships with, and EA has not published a single frame-rate or resolution specification for either platform, so claims about exact numbers are third-party measurements rather than official figures.

Rating and content

UFC 5 is the first game in the franchise rated M for Mature. EA's help page states it directly: the M rating reflects content that may not be suitable for players under 17, and the series had not carried that rating before.

The rating is not cosmetic. The damage system shows cuts and swelling, doctor stoppages are a real outcome, and the presentation leans into the sport's violence in a way the T-rated entries did not.

Save data and progress

Two facts about saves that affect how you play:

  • There is one autosave across all modes. No manual saves, no save-scumming a career.
  • Profile progress is stored on EA's servers, not locally. Trophy guides documented this early, and it explains why an offline console still shows your level but not your unlocks.

If EA's servers are down, the online modes are unavailable regardless of your connection, and profile-level rewards do not accrue.

Editions

EA sells UFC 5 in several packages, and the differences are content bundles rather than gameplay.

EditionWhat EA lists in it
StandardBase game
UltimateMultiple Alter Ego bundles including Pride and Prime drops, 3 new Legends fighters, Hall of Fame Alter Egos, 15 newly rostered fighters
DeluxeEarly access three days before launch; trophy guides record the date as 24 October 2023
30th Anniversary BundleCosmetic and currency bundle; the Premium version includes 2,800 UFC Points

The Ultimate Edition's value proposition is entirely roster content: the bundles it includes are Alter Egos and fighters, all of which are cosmetic-adjacent but mechanically real, because an Alter Ego changes stats and move set.

One warning about edition contents in 2026: the marketing copy for the Ultimate Edition was written while the game was still adding content. Everything it lists is already in the game for every owner now, because the roster and Alter Ego list are closed at Patch 1.31. What an edition buys you today is convenience and cosmetics, not access to content that other players lack.

Platform-specific notes

PlayStation 5. No PS4 version and no cross-buy, so there is no upgrade path to worry about — the PS5 disc or download is the only version. Trophy autopop does not apply because there is no second version to autopop from.

Xbox Series X|S. The Series S runs the same game with the same content; there is no separate Series S edition and no feature carve-out documented by EA. The one platform-specific bug in the patch history is a store crash when accessing it through Xbox Cloud, fixed in Patch 1.22.

What to check before buying

  1. Which console do your friends play on? Cross-play does not exist, so this is the only question that matters for multiplayer.
  2. Do you care about the Ultimate Edition content? If you want specific Alter Egos, check whether they are store items or bundle exclusives — the bundle list is fixed now.
  3. Are you buying for the campaign or the online play? Career and Fight Now work offline; Online Career, Ranked, Blitz and Fight Week do not.
  4. Is the M rating an issue for your household? The damage system is the reason for it and it cannot be turned off.

What about the sequel's platforms

UFC 6 released on 19 June 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the same two platforms. That means a console bought for UFC 5 is the correct console for UFC 6, and the no-PC situation is unchanged across the two games.

One thing not to assume: UFC 5 has no cross-play and no cross-progression, and that does not automatically tell you what UFC 6 does. Check EA's help pages for the sequel before buying it for a cross-platform group, because console policies change between titles even when the platform list does not.
